Apple’s lineup fall 2009

Some bits and pieces of geekness. Apple threw out some nice looking products in this reportedly last batch in 2009. No more goodness till ’10… oh well, no new iPhone to want longingly.

So, the best one, in my opinion, is the Magic Mouse. No buttons, but multi-touch covering, much like in the new glass trackpads or the iphone. You can scroll with momentum, it works beautifully – if you flick a long one, it’ll roll for a good while before stopping. if you just lightly touch it, a few rows –, you can swipe, which is not that great, because you have to hold it awkwardly. Even though, very nice.

Upgraded iMacs, with 6:9 ratio, the glass is full front, nothing protrudes. Sleek, the screen is amazing if you have some HD movies lying about. Nothing much more needs saying.

Unibody MacBook, the plastic one. Sturdier , but most testers found that it collects fingerprints and scratches wonderfully. Improvement on the old one anyway. Also, integrated battery, longer life, LED backlighted screen, etc.

Improved Mac Mini, with server capabilities. Well, good for those who didn’t yet buy anything, but not a gamechanger. Just better.
